Sort of. That was a slogan used by TIMEX in an ad campaign in the 1980's about their new shock resistant watches, although it could be equally applicable to New York City post Hurricane Sandy as well. Walloped by record storm surge and battered by hurricane force winds, half of the City (north of 39th street) continues to operate as though it was just another rainy day. Meanwhile lower Manhattan, parts of Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, and the Bronx remain powerless and submerged. ETA for power arrival, wait for it, wait for it . . . 5 to 10 days!! Well, at least our car wasn't parked in this garage.
